Former Boston Red Sox Pitcher Tim Wakefield Dies at 57

The two-time World Series champion's passing comes just days after his former teammate Curt Schilling reported he was battling brain cancer.
The professional pitcher previously played for the baseball team for most of his MLB career, and they praised the legacy he’s left behind, in the heartbreaking message.
“Our hearts are broken with the loss of Tim Wakefield,” the team’s tweet read.
“Wake embodied true goodness; a devoted husband, father, and teammate, beloved broadcaster, and the ultimate community leader. He gave so much to the game and all of Red Sox Nation. Our deepest love and thoughts are with Stacy, Trevor, Brianna, and the Wakefield family.”
