The late singer's estate has responded less than 24 hours after Jerrod Carmichael made a joke about her passing at Tuesday's Golden Globes.
Whitney's official estate responded with a statement via TMZ in addition to the internet responding to the joke.
Pat Houston, the late hitmaker's manager and sister-in-law, revealed via a representative that the estate thought the joke was in "poor taste" and was not amused.
According to a statement released on January 11, the Whitney Houston Estate is disappointed in the joke and thought it was inappropriate.
They asked me to announce the location, so Jerrod said, "We are here live from the hotel that killed Whitney Houston, The Beverly Hilton.".
Following the joke, many viewers responded to Jerrod's remark on social media, and many of them were not amused.
